Information about fees
How much does the assessment cost?
-
The cost of neuropsychological assessment and report varies according to type of service required.
-
The assessment itself often takes several hours to complete depending on the complexity, information available, and number of referral questions that need to be addressed.
-
Completion of the neuropsychological assessment and report often takes between 10 to 15 hours to complete. This includes the time spent one-on-one with the neuropsychologist, retrieval of relevant documentation (e.g., health records), report writing, phone calls and feedback.
-
Assessment and report for diagnostic and NDIS purposes are priced by the hour ($214.41 per hour). The time requirement for this service typically ranges between 8 and 15 hours. Additional time is required for feedback sessions and / or assessment of decision making capacity.
-
Medico-legal assessments and reports for criminal and civil matters generally range from $2,900 to $4,200, depending on the complexity and volume of materials associated with the case.
-
Assessments requiring travel outside of the Melbourne-metro area will also incur additional fees.
Payment policy
-
Payment from new referrers are expected prior to the release of the report, which occurs within 2 to 4 weeks from the assessment. Payments via bank transfer are preferred.

-
Given the length of the assessment, a cancellation fee applies if notice of cancellation is not given in advance with at least 48 hours' notice, as the day cannot be filled with another appointment.
-
Deposit of cancellation fee is required for privately paying clients.

-
At this stage neuropsychological assessments are not funded by Medicare.
